Definition: A disorder resulting from inadequate blood flow in the arteries that supply the brain. The diagnostic criteria may include current or previous history of the following: Ischemic stroke, TIA, Noninvasive or invasive arterial imaging test demonstrating greater than or equal to 50% stenosis of any of the major extracranial or intracranial vessels to the brain; Previous cervical or cerebral artery revascularization surgery or percutaneous intervention.
